Iwan Paolini is a Ph.D. candidate in Italian studies at the University of Trieste and the University of Udine; he has published articles on Tommaso Landolfi, Anna Maria Ortese, and Stelio Mattioni.

He has collaborated with theatrical entities in Tuscany, Veneto, and Friuli; he has written plays inspired by the works and figures of Giambattista Basile, Italo Calvino, and Leonarda Cianciulli. He is convinced that, sooner or later, he will appear on some private television network as a fortune-teller.
